We are pleased to announce that the programme for the Great Exhibition of the North has been announced!  We produced a comprehensive brochure for the launch event at Sage Gateshead; which revealed many of the amazing events taking place this summer.

We have been working closely with the team at NGI over the past year to produce a wide range of marketing and branding materials for the event. Currently, we are rolling out a national advertising campaign in both digital and print media using the call-to-action we developed #GETNORTH2018.

We have also further developed the visual identity design system and started working on some exciting concepts for the street dressing of NewcastleGateshead over the summer. In addition, you may have seen our animation sting projected onto the side of the Baltic.

The website we produced, which is central to the marketing campaign, is now live and the public programme is in the works too so if you are interested in more of the work we do for the event, keep an eye on our portfolio page.

If you haven’t heard of it, The Great Exhibition of the North is billed as the country’s biggest event of 2018, with a target audience reach of three million people. It is designed to tell the story of the whole of the north of England through its innovators, artists, designers and businesses. The events will run from the 22 June–9 September 2018 and will begin with a 80m water fountain sculpture rising from the River Tyne, and that’s just the start!

Lauren Laverne is to curate the Great North Soundtrack, a week-long feast of northern music at Sage Gateshead, the story of the lightbulb will be told at Newcastle’s Lit and Phil library – where it was first demonstrated by Swan – and LEGO will be the substance of model maker Steve Mayes’ Timeline of Northern Innovation at the Mining Institute next door.
